At least, I’m a beast of burden again this morning. Carrier PDF to Kinko’s, sheets through the laundry. Plus the usual.
And now the Carrier editor resigned. The Membership chairman resigned. A Board member resigned. It’s beginning to feel personal
. Some of us need to think this through.

outside but it was a rowing machine day. 8855m in 45 minutes at 2:23.4/500m (HR to 134). 1,118Km. Starting to build again.
Chilly in the house with the wind ripping the fog over the hill. But it’s burning off now at 7:40.

A little corroboration from NBC via TPMmuckraker August 12, 2006 06:17 PM? So maybe this incredibly dangerous and imminent attack was neither as dangerous or imminent as the propagandists want us to believe?
Or maybe it was but NBC didn’t get the memo?

I’m never sure whether I should believe people like this or to believe the standard reporting. Not trusting either government, this has more than a little appeal.

again. Another 5Km walk morning. I suspect some of the locals are convinced I’m a nut-job, unable to walk in either a straight line or consistently forward. But it all slowed the pace and worked a bunch of core muscles the regular walking doesn’t
The Starbuck’s scone run with Jordan was, by comparison, uneventful.

Rowed 8,795m in 45 minutes at 2:33.5/500m. HR was 128. Peaked in the 130s when I drifted off into some of the upsetting things.
Then we walked to Safeway for some stuff. Cool but the sun’s out. Passed on playing with the computer in the communication support van at the fire house.

It’s so sad. The Christian Science Monitor dropped off a free copy of today’s edition. Their articles on the Middle East are almost as judgementally anti-Lebanon and the mainstream. I was saddened by a lack of clarity and the abundance of the propagandist messages.
But the worst this morning was an entry on “Left I on the News” reporting on and pointing to a U.N. Human Rights Council decision to “ESTABLISH HIGH-LEVEL INQUIRY COMMISSION FOR LEBANON”. The blog entry observes that this hasn’t been mentioned in any of the big US newspapers. It’s not likely it’s made the even more information-starved television stations. It’s interesting that China, Russia, and some of the South American countries voted for the resolution and the US, Canada, and most of Europe voted against.
It’s worthy of note and consideration no matter your opinion on the matter. I’m glad this blogger saw fit to point it out.

Well, I’ve gone and done my math totally wrong again. It’s going to be a CRAZEEEEE week. Somehow, I decided that the month started on a Saturday (when I knew it started on a Tuesday in the back of my mind). That put me a week off in the 2nd Thursday and 3rd Friday counts. So I missed the Public Safety Advisior Committee meeting
and I wasn’t expecting the radio club’s general meeting this week.
Oh well. And then HP calls a meeting at Linux World Expo. So Howard is coming up for a few days. But I have been offered a ticket to the Club House restaurant at Del Mar for the Pacific Classic on Sunday, so travel to San Diego is really important.
It’ll be fun.

Well, it’s down in the low 60s again. Better sleeping nights.
Taking it easy this morning, legs complaining about yesterday’s “walk”. It’s a bit surprising but there’s no point pushing it. The little guy and I will do a Safeway run in a little bit.

Ooops … this was left in Draft from Wednesday.
Well, we went back up into the high ’90s again today. The house got close to 97 inside. The breeze kept it from getting a lot hotter than the outside.
We jumped out early and did the boots and amplifier run. I was on my way to get a 3 foot coax jumper and decided not to. Now I need to run back down there to get one. And we need a new SO-239(?) to SMA connector. The original one just isn’t working.
The good news is that the amp works. The handytalkie can now get to the repeaters from the house. It’s a good power and cost trade-off and it works just fine.
